Athletic Update: February means post-season basketball! The Bears and Lady Bears both earned trips to the Regional tournament next week, and will begin semi-final games in the district tournament tomorrow at CRA. The #1 seeded Lady Bears tip off against the #4 seeded Maynard Lady Tigers at 4:00, and the #2 seeded Bears play the #3 seeded Ridgefield Christian Warriors at 7:45. The finals are set for Friday night with the girls game at 6:00 and the boys at 7:15. Next week will be the start of the Regional tournament at Greers Ferry West Side. Just a reminder that ticket sales will move to the online platform GoFan for the Regional and State tournaments. Good luck and Go Bears!

We have some outstanding Junior Beta Club members who will be our special guest presenters at our school board meeting tonight. We are moving our board meeting from our boardroom to the high school library to ensure enough space for everyone.

Blind Date with a Book Come to the library and choose your blind date with a book. The only information about the book you will have is the first line of the story. Read your date book and test on it and you will be entered in a drawing for a prize package (Two movie passes, Amazon Gift Card, candy……..) Books will be handed out starting February 8th and the contest will end on March 8th. You will be entered into the drawing for each blind date book you read. Enter as many times as you can! I hope you love your book date, and as always, happy reading!!

Due to the updated weather forecast and the anticipated increase in snowfall in our area, we have decided to dismiss school today at noon. There will be no afterschool activities. The board meeting will be rescheduled for tomorrow night.

Athletic Update: Basketball season is slowly winding down. This week marks the end of junior high season, with both groups playing in the district tournament at Ridgefield Christian. They junior boys were defeated by Hillcrest on Monday night, and the junior girls will play their first round game tonight at 5:00 against Ridgefield Christian. If they win, they will play tomorrow night at 6:30. Senior high girls and boys both won last night against Salem, and will play Riverside on Friday, with girls tipping at 6:00 pm. Next week, our senior high teams will play in the district tournament at CRA. Best of luck to all of our teams as we get into postseason!
