Mammoth Spring, Ark. - A new chapter in Mammoth Spring Athletics begins today as Mammoth Spring High School takes the court for the first time as an official volleyball program.
The Mammoth Spring Bears will host the Midland Mustangs on Tuesday evening at the Mammoth Spring Gymnasium, with the first serve scheduled for 4:30 p.m. The evening will feature competition at the 7th-grade, junior high, and senior high levels.
For Head Coach Matthew Hardin, tonight is the result of months of hard work and preparation.
“We are extremely excited to finally take the court and get started this season,” said Hardin. “There has been a lot of work by our athletics department and others behind the scenes to get our program to this point. We look forward to seeing our athletes compete and represent Mammoth Spring. I would like to thank our school board, our athletic director, and others who have worked tirelessly to get this program off the ground.”
Athletic Director Houston Cooper said the addition of volleyball represents an exciting opportunity for the district and its students.
“Starting a new athletic program is a big step for a school, and we are proud to see volleyball become a part of Mammoth Spring Athletics,” Cooper said. “We are excited for our students and coaches and hope our community will come out and support them as we begin this new tradition.”
The inaugural season reflects the commitment of student-athletes, coaches, families, school administration, and a community willing to invest in new opportunities for its students. As the Bears take the court for the first time, Mammoth Spring School District invites the entire community to be part of the beginning.
