From the Desk of the Superintendent
As we begin the 2026-27 school year, I want to welcome our students, families, faculty, and staff back to the Mammoth Spring School District and “The Hill.”
The beginning of a new school year is an important time for all of us. Specifically, it’s an opportunity to recognize the progress we’ve made, consider the work that remains in front of us, and set our sights on what we can accomplish together.
We have much to be encouraged by as we begin this school year. Last year’s ATLAS assessment results showed meaningful improvement at both the elementary and high school levels. These numbers are a testament to the dedication of our students and the commitment of the teachers and staff who work with them every day. We are proud of that progress, but we also understand that continued growth requires our maximum effort.
I’m also encouraged by the continued increase in enrollment across our district, from our Birth to Three program through high school. We are pleased to welcome these new students and families to our district and do not take the responsibility of educating your children lightly.
This year also marks the return of the EAST Program to our high school. We are excited about the opportunities EAST will provide for our students to engage in real-world projects, solve problems, serve their community, and develop skills that will serve them well beyond high school. We look forward to seeing the impact our students will make through this program.
Over the past two weeks, our faculty and staff have participated in multiple trainings and professional development opportunities while also spending time planning and preparing for the year ahead. I want to thank our entire staff for the time and effort they have dedicated to making sure we are prepared to serve our students from the moment they walk through our doors.
I would also like to recognize our maintenance and custodial staff for the tremendous work they have done preparing our campus for the start of school. Their efforts often take place behind the scenes, but their work is essential to what we do. “The Hill” is ready for a new school year because of their hard work.
To our teachers, administrators, and support staff: thank you for all that you will do this year. The work of educating and supporting young people is important and requires patience, consistency, and a willingness to put students first, always. I am confident in the people we have working together to serve our school community.
To our students, I encourage you to approach this school year with purpose. Set high expectations for yourself, take advantage of the opportunities available to you, and understand that success is built through effort and perseverance. Your time in our schools goes quickly, and I hope you will make the most of that time to become the person you are capable of becoming.
As we move forward, we will continue to build on the progress we have made while remaining focused on the work ahead. Many great things are happening across the Mammoth Spring School District, and I’m proud to be a part of it. I’m looking forward to what we can all accomplish together this school year.
