Scholarship

April 14, 2026 - Mammoth Spring High School is proud to announce that senior Bethany Robbins has been awarded the K8 Community Scholarship, presented by KAIT and Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, AR. The scholarship, valued at $10,000, recognizes students for their achievements and future potential.

Selected from a pool of more than 500 applicants, Robbins’ application stood out to the scholarship committee for her accomplishments, character, and plans.

Robbins received the surprise of a lifetime on Monday when representatives from K8 News and Arkansas State visited to present the award in person. The scholarship was officially unveiled during an interview with K8 News’ Morning Anchor Charles McCary.

“What if I told you that you just won $10,000?” McCary said before ceremoniously tearing away a banner to reveal Robbins’ award. Robbins became emotional, sharing how the scholarship will help her pursue her education without the need to rely on student loans. “I’m still in shock, but I’m beyond grateful,” she said. “This scholarship gives me hope and confidence before entering this next chapter of my life.”

Bethany’s parents, Don and Rhonda Robbins, shared their pride in their daughter’s accomplishment. “We are so proud of Bethany and the hard work she has put into her future. Her dedication is why we are here today,” they said.

Principal Scott Small said Bethany receiving the scholarship comes as no surprise, given her consistent hard work. “We hold our students to a high standard because we know what they’re capable of. Bethany has consistently met and exceeded those standards, and this scholarship reflects the level of excellence she has shown.”

Bethany plans to attend Arkansas State University this fall, where she will pursue a degree in Radiological Sciences.
